Professional Conference Interpreter

Gérard François is a professional AIIC certified conference interpreter with over 30 years experience working with top international institutions such as the EU, IBRD IMF, CE, UN and CITES.

He has also worked for well known corporations (Ford, Saturn, Autodesk), as well as renowned associations (Pharma, AMA, IFPMA, IOC, IBBTA, ATCM, GEF, IUCN).

As a teacher, Gérard taught at the Georgetown School of Interpretation, and was on the juries of the Mons, Antwerp and SCIC schools. He also judged exams for interpreter-candidates for several government services.

Gérard François also has significant voice-over experience, including work for clients such as the World Bank, Caterpillar, York and the new U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.

Gérard’s work has led him to every capital of Europe, across Asia, Latin America and Africa.

Recruited for the G 20 Economic Summit in Washington in 2008.

During his career, Gérard has interpreted for every US president since Jimmy Carter, and every EU leader since Helmut Schmidt and Valery Giscard d’Estaing.

His experience has also brought him on visits with many African leaders , from Mobutu Sese Seko, to the King of Morroco, including MM. Obasanjo, Diouf, Wade, Houphouet Boigny, Eyadema, Bourguiba, Ben Ali, and Konare.

He has had the honor to serve at G-8 meetings on the American Continent, from Williamsburg, to Toronto.
